The Parish of Woodchester is more than the sum of those who live within it. The Parish of Woodchester is not simply a church but The Church.
So the catalogue of activities and groups in this website is a description of a living entity, which condenses, as it were, the universal Church in this area. Geographically the Parish is unusual. Large compared to its numbers, with no one centre of population and a Church situated off-centre within walking distance of very few parishioners.
But it has its substantial assets: a fine school in St Dominic’s, pleasant countryside around it, an exceptionally good Church building and also good – and increasing – links with its “Cluster” partners of Stroud and Stonehouse. All the more reason then for this website to guide everyone in contacting the best point of access to what the Parish contains. For its compilers it has been a labour of love and it will be warmly welcomed.
